Day 1
Fly overnight to Johannesburg.
Day 2
Connect with a short onward flight to Windhoek, where you'll be greeted and transferred to a guesthouse to freshen up. Your hire car will be delivered for a briefing on your route and driving in Namibia. Then it's a drive north west into the Erongo Mountains, for a comfortable night amidst the first outstanding scenery of the trip.
Day 3
A long drive north today, passing through the vast, iconic landscapes of Damaraland. In the afternoon you'll arrive at your lodge for a two night stay, and there should be time for a nature drive or scenic hike.
Day 4
Today you will be taken on a guided excursion to a Himba settlement for a taster of their traditional nomadic lifestyles. Back at your lodge, we'd recommend you enjoy a beautiful Namibian sunset on the terrace with a drink.
Day 5
This morning it's a drive east into Etosha, for a one night stay in the southern sector of the park. There can be outstanding game viewing opportunities at the camp's floodlit waterhole.
Day 6
Driving east across Etosha you'll make various stops to view the diverse wildlife. Accommodation for the next two nights is at a comfortable camp close to the eastern gate and the shimmering Etosha Pan.
Day 7
A full day of top class Etosha game viewing, either under your own steam or in guided activities which you can book on-site.
Day 8
Today's drive east ends close to Grootfontein, with a two night stay at a charming guesthouse.
Day 9
A full day guided Bushman experience. This will provide a unique insight into the timeless culture and modern lives of the San-Bushman people of the Kalahari.
Day 10
A journey south to the picturesque Waterberg Plateau, where you'll spend two nights at a welcoming lodge in a wonderful location. This afternoon you may want to enjoy a hike onto the plateau.
Day 11
Another fascinating cultural excursion, with a guided visit to a Herero community in the Central Highlands.
Day 12
Take your time driving south today, with one night back in Windhoek to relax after a long itinerary.
Day 13
After a languid morning you'll drive to the airport and drop off your hire car, before a short flight to Johannesburg. Your flight home travels overnight.
Day 14
Arrive in the UK.
