The sister accommodation of Mowani, Camp Kipwe enjoys a similarly resplendent location amidst the cascading kopjes of southern Damaraland’s Twyfelfontein Conservancy. The camp is all about simple elegance and incredible vistas, with less of the luxury that you will find at Mowani but more than sufficient comfort and service. There are nine rooms and one suite, stone rondavels designed to integrated with the surrounding boulders. Each has open air en-suite bathrooms where huge granite rocks are often a design feature, around which the shower and sink units are built. The bedrooms are comfortable and relatively minimalist, with a few bright cushions and bed spreads to provide extra colour, while the stone foundations and unique design keep the rooms cool even during the hottest months.

The main area of camp was destroyed by a fire in May 2012 but has already been completely renovated to include a cosy lounge, indoor dining room and a viewing deck where meals will usually be served in the warmer months. Winding your way between the scattered boulders, you will find a small pool and a scenic sundowner spot on top of one of the rocks. All of the Twyfelfontein attractions are easily accessible for self-drivers, while guided game drives and walks can also be booked. Camp Kipwe is perfect for unpretentious, good value Damaraland stays.
