Situated on a 170 sq km expanse of private farmland in the Central Highlands, where both white and black rhino roam and varied antelope visit the lodge waterhole, Frans Indongo Lodge is an attractive option for short stays in the area. Accommodation is comfortable and good value, while the lodge is conveniently located for visits to the Waterberg Plateau, Cheetah Conservation Foundation and the Africat Foundation. Named after its owner Dr Frans Indongo, a prominent Namibian businessman, and run by a friendly German couple, the lodge has a welcoming, no-frills feel which belies the comfort of the rooms and the excellent food and wine available.

There are 12 rooms, comprising of family units, doubles and the slightly more luxurious chalets, each spacious and modern with TV, air-conditioning and en-suite facilities (the chalets have bathtubs). The central building houses a restaurant, bar and terrace, each offering views out to the floodlit waterhole, as does the enticing swimming pool on a raised decking area with sun loungers. From here you can self-drive to Waterberg, walk around the farm or book guided activities on foot and by vehicle. With a convenient location just off the main C38 road and not far from Etosha or Windhoek, Frans Indongo is ideal for a relaxing, good value stay at the end of a self-drive itinerary.
