One of Windhoek’s newest accommodation options, opening its doors in December 2012, Galton House provides high standards of service and classy finishings at bargain prices. Based in the northern Windhoek suburb of Eros, this boutique guesthouse is modern and clean, with patio areas and exposed staircases creating a style reminiscent of North-American beach side properties. There are just eight rooms, decorated in a fresh, minimal style with white and cream walls offset by tiled floors and brightly coloured cushions. The en-suite bathrooms have walk-in showers and the bedrooms offer satellite TV, air-conditioning and Wifi access.
The communal areas boast inside and outside dining spots so that you can decide according to the season, with a la carte lunches and set menu dinners on offer. There are pretty, understated gardens in which you’ll find a refreshing swimming pool to cool off and enjoy the peace and quiet of the secluded location. With the Eros shops and restaurants nearby and the city centre only a short drive or taxi ride away, this is a highly convenient accommodation that currently offers outstanding value for money because it is relatively new on the scene, a situation which is likely to change fairly rapidly.
