Home to the world famous Africat Foundation, the Okonjima project offers a range of accommodations within their 55,000 acre nature reserve. The Bush Camp offers luxury, safari-style accommodation in eight chalets and a Honeymoon Suite, each combining canvas and polished cement walls with thatched roofs to provide spacious living areas with views out to the reserve. There are large comfortable beds, a lounge area with sofas and an en-suite bathroom with twin basins and a shower built around a tree. The walls and floors are painted in warm, earthy colours and décor is mainly traditional African, lending the rooms a vibrant look that can be enhanced by rolling back the canvas frontage and letting the sun pour in.

The central lodge is an extensive curved building set under a thatched roof, where a lounge, dining area and reception are all found, with a swimming pool just across the lawn. A stay at Okonjima is all about the activities, and guests can enjoy nature drives, walks and educational programmes to learn about the leopard, hyena, pangolin and other animals living on the reserve. With fewer children staying the night, the Bush Camp is definitely targeted at couples, in contrast to the family oriented Plains Camp.
