Okonjima Plains Camp was opened in 2014 after Main Camp outgrew its original home in the farmhouse.  The huge main area has floor to ceiling windows with wonderful views across the plains.  Housing a bar, shop, dining areas and a variety of seating areas it is very different in design from the original camp however still has a very welcoming and friendly feel.  Outside there are more seating areas and a pool.  There are 14 standard rooms and 10 view rooms all with verandahs and views of the bush – the view rooms being more recently built and slightly larger.

Activities include game drives tracking leopard plus learning about the various fascinating research programmes being undertaken on the Reserve.  There are also nocturnal game drives, walking trails and the opportunity to visit the AfriCat’s Carnivore Care and Information Centre.  With its central location, Okonjima works perfectly as a last stop on a Namibian itinerary, as guests can get to Windhoek in time for afternoon and evening flights.
